What you’re in for
The Burrator Noir is a 12-mile night trail race from the Discovery Centre at Burrator Reservoir. It climbs through forest and rocky moorland tracks towards Nun's Cross and Princetown, then returns along the old railway line past Foggintor Quarry and behind Ingra Tor, finishing through the leat-side plantation. The organiser calls it tough but mostly runnable, and says it will be muddy, so fell-type shoes are recommended. The 12-mile race starts at 6pm, after kids' races at 5:15pm. A flat 10k road race round the reservoir starts at 6:30pm. A headtorch with spare batteries, a long-sleeved top, a waterproof and your own cup are required. Medals are an optional extra.
