What you’re in for
A hundred and two miles round the Cheshire Ring from Media City at Salford Quays, joining six canals in turn: the Bridgewater, the Ashton, the Rochdale, the Peak Forest, the Trent and Mersey and the Macclesfield. Barely 345 m of climb in the whole thing, which makes it a very different problem from a mountain hundred — nothing to slow you down and nothing to break the rhythm either. Easy to follow, with a GPX to download. Eleven checkpoints, thirty hours.
