What you’re in for
Two hundred miles round the GM Ringway, starting and finishing at the Imperial War Museum North, linking the communities around Greater Manchester on a circular route that never strays far from a river or a canal. Largely trail, with road crossings that are not closed, so you slow down and cross. Mud, ice, stiles and barbed wire beside them. Ten checkpoints from Northenden round to Timperley, ninety-six hours, 5,545 m of ascent.
