What you’re in for
A circular run of about 40 miles over the North York Moors from Goathland Village Hall, timed to the shortest night of the year. You register an hour before last light, the race starts when the Lamplighter lights the lamp at the hall gate, and you are racing the sunrise back. Moorland, forest and good tracks, nearly all of it in the dark. Lamplighter 20 runs alongside on the same night.
