What you’re in for
A loop of about 120 miles from Goathland Village Hall over the highest hills on the North York Moors, on parts of the Cleveland Way, Esk Valley Walk and Lyke Wake Walk, past burial mounds, boundary stones and old crosses. You enter solo or as a pair and navigate it yourself, carrying a tracker. Earlier runnings had indoor checkpoints with drop bags at about 40 and 80 miles, self-clip points between, no crews, no poles and no headphones, and a field of 70.
