What you’re in for

Fifty-four miles down the Cumbria Way from Keswick to Ulverston, taking in Great Gable and Scafell Pike on the way through the Lake District. Self-navigated: you carry a GPS with both the high and low-level files, and the Cumbria Way's own permanent markers help. Five checkpoints, twenty hours, and somewhere between 2,600 and 3,565 m of climb depending on which line you take.
