What you’re in for
A 5km, a 10km or a half marathon in the Harewood House estate between Leeds and Harrogate in January — a thousand acres of gardens, woodland and farmland around the house. The routes take in the grounds and the woods above the lake, and regulars rate it one of their favourite Wild Deer events. The 5km is 5.3km, the 10km 10.3km, the half 21.9km. Start times are approximate until the final information.
Terrain and trail
Estate drives, woodland track and parkland grass, undulating rather than hilly, with the woods holding mud in January and the grass sections heavy. A trail shoe for the 10km and the half.
